Donating your body to science pays off!

I haven't written in a while mainly because we've been so busy. Things will settle down when our move to Germany is finished and my blog writing should pick up. We arrived home on Sunday from a week's visit to the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Washington, D.C., where I donated my body to scientific research. I thought it was the least I could do to help humanity a little. We flanked the NIH visit on both weekends with visits to see friends and family. We had a great time. Dave and Gabriella got a lot of bonding time together while I was off at the NIH getting tested and prodded. They toured around at the National Zoo one day, went to many Starbuck's, and basically did some sight-seeing.

Gabriella did very well except for the first weekend when we were at our friend's house, she was teething pretty badly. Two pearly teeth were trying to poke through on Saturday and Sunday. As a result, she wasn't herself and we had a lot of meltdowns. By monday, the teeth had come through and she was back to her happy self.

We also found out this past week that there is a reason that Gabriella has her own room at home. It was miserable for all of us sharing a hotel room. I stayed awake almost every night waiting for her to make a move or cry, so needless to say I was tired most of the days. It turns out Gabriella makes a lot of noise during the night that we are fortunate enought not to hear when we are at our house, nothing special, just quiet noises and sometimes short crying bouts which I think might be dreams.

While we were in D.C. we got to tour the Air and Space Museum and the Museum of Natural History. Gabriella loved the Museum of Natural History because it had so many animals of all kinds!

Our last weekend we stayed with my Aunt and Uncle on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It was the first time Gabriella got to meet her Aunt and Uncle and two cousins. We had a great time hanging out, chatting, and going to the local Consignment shop. I got bargains galore for Gabriella. I love consignment shopping! We were so sad when we had to leave and come home on Sunday.

Now, we are busy, busy, busy getting ready for our move to Germany. There are so many appointments, check off lists, and things to coordinate before we leave at the end of February. As for our new phone and address, all of you who have our current phone and/or address will get an update soon. Now, for the pics!!!!!
