Now that we are OUT of PGN (I still can't believe it), many are asking, "What happens next?". Well, it's something like this. With a little help from Sofia's mom:
* The adoption decree is drafted and registered.
* Gabriella will receive a new birth certificate with our last name on it from the civil registry in Guatemala City. (takes 2-3 weeks)
* Gabriella will receive a passport.
* The adoption documents will be translated and submitted to the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala for the visa.
* The visa approval is issued by the Embassy on pink paper, so getting the visa approval, along with the date of your formal embassy interview, is often called “getting PINK.”
* Gabriella will be examined by a U.S. Embassy approved doctor (hopefully Dave and I will be there at that point).
* We will take Gabriella to our Embassy appointment.
* The day after the Embassy appointment, we will receive Gabriella's visa and then all three of us will hightail it home to the U.S.!!!!!
The adoption process end seems to be in sight, but we will not rest easy until we are home in the good ole United States.

Lori,
For some reason today I decided to do a Google search for my daughters name, Gabriella Grace, and the first hit a saw was your blog. I read all your postings and am deeply touched with your story. I applaud you and husband for going through so much to adopt Gabriella Grace. You two are truly amazing people. I pray that she will be home soon and in your arms forever. I look forward to following Gabriella trip home.
My 'GG' turned 1 on June 26, 2007. She brings us so much joy and happiness!
