Question and answer session for the new mom

Okay, maybe the title is a little misleading. I mean questions from me and answers from you all out in blog land. I need help. Today wasn't the greatest day with our little bundle of joy. Everything was going well until about 12pm. I had been wanting to get to the grocery store all day. For some reason, Gabriella gets up between 7:30 and 8:00 AM everyday and I am STILL unable to get out of the door before noon each day. It is so frustrating. So, determined I was to get to the grocery before Gabriella's nap which is around 1:00/1:30pm. Anyway, we were out the door at 12:15pm. Gabriella fell asleep on the way home which is only about 5 minutes from the store. I mean she was OUT. Now, she usually has lunch before her nap and then a bottle. Well, Gabriella was so tired she couldn't even hold her head up in her high chair. I thought, hmmm, I'll just warm up a bottle of formula and give it to her while I rock her and then put her down. Well, that's when it all went down hill. She slept for about 45 minutes and then proceeded to cry for approximately 30 minutes. I tried to feed her some lunch. That didn't work. She was moody and tired. So basically the remainder of the day was spent whining and crying about every little thing. Dinner was a pain. She just wanted to throw her food on the floor and pull her bow out of her hair. AGGHHHH! For a second, I thought about telling Dave I was going out for milk and never coming back. So, anyway this brings me to my questions:

1. What are good negative consequences/punishments for a one year old (I can't think of any)? Mostly now it's just so she won't throw food on the floor and pull her bow out of her hair (later it might be to prevent her from running into traffic when I say "no" or touching a hot stove, etc. . .

2. What are some "old stand-by" healthy lunches/snacks that you feed to a one year old who is just starting to feed herself finger foods (that they'll actually eat)?

3. What are some fun activities/how do you keep a one year old entertained while still keeping your sanity? A bonus would be for her to actually learn something, an educational activity.

Please, please all of you experienced mothers or fathers out there, I beg you, please help me!!! I may go insane otherwise. Don't get me wrong, Gabriella is a really sweet baby, but there are times, oh, there are times when I think I may go coo-coo.

I'm a stickler for routine and think that not only is good for the children but good for the mom too. I remember when Mackenzie first came home EVERYTHING was scheduled around her sleeping and feeding schedule. Some may say that's a bit extreme but try to remember that Gabriella has had some major changes in her world as of late so to get her to feel as comfortable as possible is the key. In a few months when she's more acclimated then maybe you can make some changes. That's just what worked for me.

We started with cheerios for snacks and have moved to Kix.
