What a Nice Long Weekend

It was nice to be home over Memorial Day weekend. It is nice to have a day set aside to honor those who are fighting for our country and those who have fought for our country in the past, especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice of a life to ensure that we feel safe and protected on a daily basis.

We, as a family had a fun weekend together here in the States. On Friday, the three of us went to the Drive-in movie theater! While searching for Drive-ins in the area, I found out a few fun facts about them. For instance, I didn't know that Kentucky has the most currently active Drive-ins still in operation in the U.S. That's a good thing because we found a really nice one only about 20 minutes away from our house in Winchester called, "The Skyview." We saw the new "Indiana Jones" movie! I have to say, I give it two thumbs up. Harrison Ford STILL looks good! I loved the Indiana Jones movies when I was a kid and this one brought back all the good memories. A drive-in is a good place to go when you have a child who is too young to take to the regular movie theater. If she cries, you can just roll up the windows! You also have a car seat for your little bundle of joy when she wants to run all over the place! We all had a very nice time. We didn't stay for the double feature, though.

On Saturday and Sunday, we laid low. I started a new knitting project, a pullover sweater for Gabriella. We played a lot outside with the neighborhood kids. We went out to eat lunch and dinner. I got a short run in.

Today, Grammy and Granddad Romine had us over for a BBQ. They just returned from their month long trip to France and Italy on Sunday. We had a fun time hearing all about their exciting trip. Gabriella got to show Grammy and Granddad her new potty skills!

Gabriella has started wearing pull-ups pretty much all the time. She decides if she wants to wear a pull-up or a diaper in the mornings. She knows she has to use the potty if she is wearing a pull-up. She really likes her pull-ups because they have Dora on them. We started introducing the potty to GG about 1 month ago. She's really young still and there's really know pressure on her. If she wants to wear her diaper she knows she can and mommy and daddy are still very proud of her. She usually wants to wear her pull-up, though. We ask her a lot if she wants to use her potty. She's had a lot of success using the potty. She prefers to take her potty seat to the big potty when she has to go. This potty thing is all about her, so whatever she wants to do and how long it takes to train her is fine with me. I figure we all eventually learn to use the toilet, right? So, no stress.

Now, for the pics . . .
