Well, tomorrow the President and 1st lady in Guatemala may announce a protocol that may put a halt on our adoption process for a while. I am trying not to think about it. I don't read chat boards or surf the web much on 'international adoption' much because I just can't handle it. I'm trying to preserve what little sanity I have left. This 'protocol' to put a stop to adoptions from Guatemala has been a threat in the past. It is unconstitutional. However, it is the president and 1st lady. Some say the organization UNICEF is a factor behind this protocol. I will never support that group, ever! They say they love children, but yet they would like to prevent international adoption everywhere. They would rather the orphanages in these countries be overflowing with children without homes/families, than allow international adoptions to take place. It's sickening.
So, there are some forces working against us being able to bring our daughter home. Please, please if you get a moment tonight or tomorrow, or anytime for that matter, please say a little prayer for all of those involved with children and adoption. I have to believe that this is just another scare along the way and that our little girl will be home soon, because I just can't bare to think of any thing else.

This protocol didn't happen, did it?
Lori - Just wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you! This same protocol threat happened last Oct. It was a horrible time!!! I'm praying that it gets pulled and shot down just like last time! A great source is Guatadopt.com. Seriously - it brings some sanity to these issues. One of the attorneys in Guat. is one that leaves information regarding things such as the protocol and she brings clarity to it all. She is highly involved with the Gov. on this level as well as an attorney doing adoptions. Hang in there! I'm praying!!
